About Columbus Math Competition

Our Mission

Columbus Math Competition emerged from a critical observation of the current state of mathematics education in America. While our national curriculum often focuses on standardized testing and rote memorization, we recognize the urgent need for a more dynamic, challenging, and engaging approach to mathematical thinking.

The United States continues to lag behind in international mathematics rankings, with particularly concerning gaps in problem-solving and analytical thinking skills. This gap not only affects our students' academic performance but also threatens our future innovation capacity in STEM fields.

Our competition is designed to address these systemic issues by providing a rigorous, yet engaging platform that encourages students to think beyond traditional classroom boundaries. We believe that early exposure to advanced problem-solving techniques is crucial for developing the kind of mathematical intuition and creativity that drives innovation in science, technology, and engineering.
